Byblos is a city in the Mount Lebanon Governorate of Lebanon. It is believed to have been first occupied between 8800 and 7000 BC and continuously inhabited since 5000 BC, making it one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Known mainly for its ancient souk, its fortress, and its historical port.
Leaving Beirut and before reaching Byblos, you can stop by Jeita Grotto and then Harissa.
Lebanon is a country rich with mountains that offer spectacular scenery and scenic view and the mountainous caves are spread in different regions. One of them isĀ Jeita Grotto situated in the valley of Naher El-Kalb at 18 km North of Beirut. It was chosen as an official finalist representing Lebanon and selected as one of the 14 worldwide landmarks new7wonders of nature competition, is a natural spot not to be missed when you visit Lebanon.
Our Lady of Lebanon-Harissa, one of the most important centers in the world for honoring the Virgin Mary, situated on an uphill overlooking Jounieh city, the visitor can use Teleferique du Liban to reach the spot.
