Broom or Spartium junceum is a wild herb
, also known as the Spanish broom, has many names or pronunciations depending on the village and the region. In Lebanon
, some call it Wazzel, while in other places it is called Nazzal.
The flower season starts in April and lasts till June depending on the altitude. Wazzel water is very tasty and can be brewed with tea. Per old traditional medicine, it is good for the heart and kidney stones.
We will start our hike in the Broom fields and pick some flowers
Until we reach a spot where we will get our rural lunch as a picnic
The flowers will be sent to a distillation shop, so after our lunch, we will head there to get our Broom Water
